Ecology, Cells and Genetics lead to an investigation of plants, animals and the human body. Labs and activities are used to explore these complex concepts.
Students conduct field and laboratory investigations, use scientific methods during investigations, and make informed decisions using critical-thinking and scientific problem solving. This course integrates the disciplines of physics and chemistry in the following topics: motion, waves, energy transformations, properties of matter, changes in matter, and solution chemistry
Students begin by studying the macroscopic world and advance into investigation of Elemental Properties, Atoms, Compounds, Bonds and Chemical Formulas. They explore topics such as Electrochemistry, Organic Chemistry and Nuclear Chemistry.
Students take an intense look at acceleration, motion, forces, energy, momentum and simple machines. Thermodynamics, Wave Behavior, Light, Electricity and Magnetism are then introduced and explored. Students finish this course with a brief look into modern physics.
