Using Everday math, students are introduced to exponents, square roots, geometric formulas, adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing signed numbers. Students work with ratios, percentages, fractions, mixed numbers and decimals.
Social Studies covers World History through a
Christian perspective. They explores historical settings, important
places and the impact each era and culture has on current
culture.
Science covers life science, physical science, earth science and the human body. It is an introductory science course that introduces and prepares students for the following more specific courses offered in seventh and eighth grades.
Language Arts in the intermediate program strongly emphasizes reading, grammar, writing, and spelling. Students are given many opportunities to hone their grammar and punctuation skills as they use them in the writing process.
Intermediate students receive daily Bible instruction. They learn they can find the answers to life’s problems in the word of God. Biblical vocabulary is built throughout the year to help students better understand key biblical terms. Memorization of Scripture is also emphasized. Chapel is a special time of the day where teachers and students join in prayer, singing and praising God for his word.
