The middle school language arts program encompasses spelling, vocabulary, grammar, literature and writing. The scope of the curriculum includes historical, fictional, biographical, autobiographical, adventure, conflict, drama, fantasy, science fiction, mythology, myths and fables, children's literature, mystery, suspense, short story, comedy, poetry, folk tales and Christian literature. Students are continually encouraged to utilize the higher order of thinking skills of analysis, synthesis and evaluation.
ALGEBRA 1 is offered for high school credit. Topics covered include evaluation of expressions, exponents, and roots, absolute value, equations, inequalities, unit conversions, solution of equations in one unknown, solution of simultaneous equations.
Earth Science, the study of the earth and space, is divided into branches such as geology, astronomy, meteorology, oceanography and paleontology.
The American History spans the Paleo-Indians, discovery and colonization, the birth of the thirteen colonies, their eventual rebellion, and finally the uniting of the states. The text focuses on expansion, development and changes in the years before the Civil War, and leads to the rebuilding of the United States.
